Manolis Petalas is a sculptor with many years of activity in visual arts, a wide range of works and a great number of exhibitions. He is a member of the Chamber of Visual Arts of Greece. At the same time, he is making an effort in the realm of literature, especially in literary translations, short stories, essays, reviews, children’s stories, newspapers and magazines. For many years he was living and working between Paris, Mykonos and Athens, having the latter as his ultimate destination.
His wall-mounted, as wall as his standing sculptures give prominence to materials that urban residents throw away. Petalas approaches poetically these materials and squeezes out of them the solitude of the impersonal metropolis.
