Tano (Athanasios Papadopoulos) is a painter and street artist, invariably engaged in the art of graffiti. His work titled a presence beyond itself is taken from the respective series of charcoal on paper works with which he has been involved since 2010. These are large-scale works where he inquires on basic quests of painting, such as space and form, in a philosophical and self-reflexive mood. Despite the tension and density of the material, a rhythmical, almost musical disposition is present, granting a different dimension to the painting surface.
