His painting is characterized by a personal expressionistic idiom, with influences from lyric abstraction. He avoids extreme distortions, usually selects intense colors in large amounts, and often integrates human figures in his works, attempting to combine abstract painting with indications of representation. He spent most of his life in Paris where he showcased his work in many individual and group exhibitions. The big retrospective held at the Benaki Museum in 2007 helped making his work broadly known in Greece as well. Equally exquisite is the quality of the ink drawings he paints along with his watercolor, tempera and oil paintings.
