How was born in England but spent most of her life in France. She studied in the free academies of Paris, in the beginning of the 20th century, experienced the Belle Epoque atmosphere of the French capital and became acquainted with the work of the great modernist artists. She painted mainly genre scenes, with a particular preference for the theme of maternity, although she never had children of her own. Her painting can be placed, on a technical level, in the wake of impressionism, and is characterized by the flowing brushstroke, the relaxed contours and the fine, fragile essence of the figures she depicts.
